SHELBY ANNOUNCES OVER $4 MILLION FOR ALABAMA EDUCATIONAL TELEVISION FOUNDATION

WASHINGTON, D. C. — U.S. Senator Richard C. Shelby (R-Ala) announced today that U.S. Department of Education will be releasing $4,467,146 to the Alabama Educational Television Foundation for the Ready to Teach Program.

These funds will be used to for the Learning for Educators Initiative under the Ready to Teach Program. This program helps educators address state-wide teacher quality issues by using electronic-learning courses to give teachers the resources to help meet Alabama’s educational priorities.

Senator Shelby said, “I am pleased to announce over $4 million for the Alabama Educational Television Foundation. By continuing to educate and equip our teachers with new skills, we are not only improving the education our children will receive, we are investing in the future of our state.”
