U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), ranking member of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice and Science, today announced that the Department of Justice’s Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention will award $313,022 to the University of South Alabama. Senator Shelby was instrumental in securing this funding.
“We must support our communities in their efforts to prevent our youth from being victims of all types of violence,” said Shelby. “The University of South Alabama will use this funding to study a program designed to prevent intimate partner violence in high-risk adolescent relationships.”
