SHELBY ANNOUNCES $573,000 FOR THE ALABAMA CRIMINAL JUSTICE INFORMATION CENTER

U.S. Senator Richard C. Shelby (R-Ala) announced today that the U.S. Department of Justice will soon be releasing $573,000 for the Alabama Criminal Justice Information Center. This grant will fund the National Criminal History Improvement Program (NCHIP).

These funds will help the NCHIP improve the Nation’s safety and security by enhancing the quality of criminal history record information. This program will also help with insuring the nationwide implementation of criminal justice and noncriminal justice background checks.

Sen. Shelby said, “I am pleased to announce these funds for the Alabama Criminal Justice Information Center. This initiative will help train employees and expand services to ensure our nation and our state are more secure.”
