U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), ranking member of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice and Science, today announced that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has awarded $195,000 to the Southeast Area Monitoring and Assessment Program.
“It is important that scientists and researchers have access to quality information that will allow them to better understand the biology of species living in our local waters,” said Shelby. “This program will provide researchers with comprehensive, real-time access to data regarding sea life in the Gulf of Mexico. This data will assist researchers facilitate sounder and more effective management efforts.”
