Shelby Announces $178,870 for Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind

U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), ranking member of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice and Science, today announced that the Department of Justice’s Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention will award $178,870 to the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind (AIDB).  Senator Shelby was instrumental in securing this funding.

“It is critical that we work with all special needs children, regardless of disability, to help them become contributing members of society,” said Shelby.  “This important funding will be used to implement an intervention program that will provide individualized counseling to children living with disabilities, such as deafness and blindness.”
