U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Ala.) today announced that the deadline for the Small Business Administration’s Economic Injury Disaster Loans program to business owners affected by the November 16, 2006, tornadoes and storms is August 29, 2007. The loans are available to small businesses located in the counties of Autauga, Bullock, Crenshaw, Elmore, Lowndes, Macon, Montgomery and Pike.
“Many small businesses in Alabama suffered economic losses as a result of the storms on November 16, 2006,” said Shelby. “It is critical that we aid the people, businesses and communities of Alabama who were affected by these natural disasters. I encourage any affected business owners to take full advantage of the assistance available before the deadline.”
To apply, small businesses can visit the SBA’s website at www.sba.gov/disasterassistance to download an application, or they may contact the agency’s Customer Service Center at 1-800-659-2955.
