Shelby Announces Over $2.1 Million for Dauphin Island Sea Lab

U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), ranking member of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice and Science, today announced that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has awarded $2,129,368 to the Dauphin Island Sea Lab for Center for Ecosystem-Based Fisheries Management.

“The Center for Ecosystem-Based Fisheries Management at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab provides opportunities for collaborative research among federal, state and university researchers that focus on the issues and concerns associated with the Gulf of Mexico and its fisheries,” said Shelby.  “This important funding will help the Dauphin Island Sea Lab operate the Center so that it may conduct research helpful to the development of sustainable management strategies for living resources in the Gulf of Mexico."
