U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), ranking member of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice and Science, today announced that the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) will release $159,000 to the South Alabama Regional Planning Commission. This funding will be used to develop and implement a comprehensive economic strategy that will support capital investment and job creation in the region.
“We must continue to work with businesses in South Alabama to facilitate economic development,” said Shelby. “This funding will help the South Alabama Regional Planning Commission strengthen the economy in south Alabama.”
The South Alabama Regional Planning Commission is comprised of Baldwin, Escambia, and Mobile counties.
