SHELBY ANNOUNCES FUNDING FOR ‘SELMA-TO-MONTGOMERY MARCH BYWAY’

U.S. Senator Richard C. Shelby (R-Ala) announced today that the Selma-to-Montgomery March Byway will receive $241,303 from the Federal Highway Administration. Alabama is one of forty-two states to receive funding for its scenic byways.

The funding is intended to help preserve and enhance the Selma to Montgomery March byway; demonstrate environmentally sensitive solutions to problems in preserving this area; and provide the community with a natural setting for outdoor activities.

Senator Shelby said, “I applaud the Federal Highway Administration for granting funding to this historic area in Alabama. It is important that we preserve this scenic byway for generations to come.”
