U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), a senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration has awarded $202,875 to Huntsville International Airport.  This funding will be used to rehabilitate the runway.

“Huntsville is one of the fastest growing cities in the South,” said Shelby. “It is critical that Huntsville International Airport makes the necessary updates and repairs to its facilities to ensure safe travel to, through and from north Alabama.  Safe and efficient transportation systems are critical to attracting new citizens, tourists and businesses.”
