U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), ranking member of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice and Science, today announced that the Department of Justice’s Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention will award $792,000 to the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA), headquartered in Montgomery. Senator Shelby was instrumental in securing this funding.
“We must support our communities in their efforts to develop and implement juvenile delinquency prevention and intervention programs,” said Shelby. “It is important that we continue to work with our nation’s youth to provide them with the tools and training they need to become contributing members of society. This funding will be used to support programs in Alabama aimed at preventing juvenile delinquency.”
