SHELBY ANNOUNCES OVER $427,000 FOR ROANOKE MUNICIPAL AIRPORT

WASHINGTON, D. C.--- U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-AL), a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced today that the City of Roanoke will receive $427,778 from the Federal Aviation Administration for improvements at Roanoke Municipal Airport.

Senator Shelby said, “I am pleased to make this announcement for Roanoke Municipal Airport. These funds will be used for land acquisition and to make runway improvements. I was pleased to play a role in securing these funds so the airport may continue work on its improvement efforts.”

This funding, which was secured in the federal appropriations process, will be administered through the Federal Aviation Administration’s Airport Improvement Program (AIP).
