U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), ranking member of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice and Science, today announced that the Department of Justice will award $324,000 to the 2008 Stalking and Domestic Violence Records Improvement Program (SDVRIP).
“Having immediate access to criminal justice data is incredibly useful to our law enforcement officials,” said Shelby. “This grant will be used to improve the process for entering data regarding stalking and domestic violence into crime information databases. Updating these databases will assist law enforcement by providing increased access to data on stalking and domestic crimes that are reported throughout Alabama.”
