Chilton County Student Receives Nomination to U.S. Air Force Academy

U. S. Sen. Richard C. Shelby (R-Ala.) today announced that Daniel Bevers of Clanton, AL has been nominated to the United States Air Force Academy. Senator Shelby nominates students every year to the U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Military Academy, and the U.S. Air Force Academy. Daniel, son of Bruce and Katye Bevers, is a student at Chilton County High School.

Senator Shelby said, “Furthering one’s education at our nation’s service academies is remarkable. Daniel has shown exemplary performance in the classroom and in his extracurricular activities. The selection process for the academies is extremely competitive, and I was pleased to have been able to nominate Daniel.”

Service academy nominees must be residents of Alabama and must complete the required ACT and SAT exams. Applicants are also required to provide letters of recommendation, their school transcript, completed medical examination, and the required application form.

Although Senator Shelby nominated Daniel, the United States Air Force Academy will make the final selection.
