Shelby Announces Over $1.2 Million for University of Alabama at Birmingham

U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), a senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will award $1,229,334 to the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) for its National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases Multidisciplinary Clinical Research Center.

“UAB is one of the premier medical schools in the nation,” said Shelby. “This funding will help ensure that the university continues to conduct cutting-edge research on some of the most serious diseases affecting the muscles, bones, joints and skin.”
