Shelby Announces $176,247 for Town of Carrollton

U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), a senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the Delta Regional Authority (DRA) will award $176,247 to the Town of Carrollton, located in Pickens County, so that it may replace two old and unreliable pumping stations.
“It is essential that the Town of Carrollton have the basic infrastructure necessary to meet the needs of its citizens,” said Shelby.  “This grant will provide the town with two new pumping stations along Highway 17 and at the hospital.”

The Delta Regional Authority grants target projects that will improve infrastructure in distressed counties and develop transportation infrastructure that will facilitate economic development.  DRA also provides funding to job training programs that work with existing public education institutions.
