WASHINGTON, D. C. — U.S. Senator Richard C. Shelby (R-Ala) announced today that the U.S. Department of Justice will be releasing $175,000 for the Transitional Housing Grant Program to the King’s Ranch and Hannah Homes Incorporated in Chelsea.

These funds will be used to provide temporary housing assistance for victims of domestic violence and their children. These victims may be homeless or in need of transitional housing or assistance as a result of fleeing a situation of domestic violence. These individuals will also have access to services such as transportation, counseling, child care services, case management and employment counseling.

Senator Shelby said, “I am pleased to announce $175,000 for the King’s Ranch and Hannah Homes in Chelsea. These funds will help give victims of domestic violence, along with their dependents, transitional housing and assistance while helping them find and secure a permanent home.”
