SHELBY ANNOUNCES $200,000 FOR DRUG COURT PROGRAM FOR THE ALABAMA ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES OF COURTS
This program will assist governments and courts on the state and local level, as well as Indian tribal governments, in developing and establishing drug courts for adult and juvenile substance abuse offenders. The Drug Court Programs, funded by the Drug Court Discretionary Grant Program, are required by law to target non-violent offenders. There are currently 13 operational drug courts in the State of Alabama.
Sen. Shelby said “I am pleased to announce $200,000 to help develop and establish drug courts for adult and juvenile substance abuse offenders in Alabama. These funds will allow the AOC to keep up-to-date and efficient records on offenders which will help hold them accountable and provide the appropriate information needed for their rehabilitation.”
