U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), a senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will award $2,917,696 to the Alabama Department of Public Health for its maternal and child health services.
“It is essential that mothers and their children have access to high quality health care,” said Shelby. “This funding ensures that mothers and their families, including fathers, receive the health care services they need by eliminating barriers that can make receiving these services unnecessarily difficult. The Alabama Department of Public Health’s important program works to improve the health and well-being of mothers and children.”
